Don Jazzy, 42, Reveals His Reasons for Not Settling Down
Nigerian music mogul Don Jazzy has stirred conversation online after candidly sharing his thoughts on relationships and why he has yet to settle down.
During a recent appearance on Nancy Isime’s talk show, the 42-year-old Mavin Records founder revealed that he finds it difficult to commit to one woman romantically. He admitted that his lack of discipline in remaining faithful has played a significant role in his decision to stay unmarried.
“I don’t think I’m built to be with just one person,” Don Jazzy said. “I won’t pretend in a relationship. If I’m dating you, I won’t lie and say you’re the only one. That wouldn’t be honest.”He explained that while some people have the ability to stay loyal to one partner once they fall in love, he still finds himself attracted to other women, regardless of being in a relationship.
His forthright comments mirror recent sentiments expressed by fellow Nigerian artist Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, who also stated that men aren't naturally wired to be monogamous. 2Baba faced backlash for his remarks, eventually issuing a public apology via Instagram.
“I know I messed up with the way I said it,” 2Baba admitted. “I’m deeply sorry to my wife and to everyone who looks up to me. That statement doesn’t reflect who I am.”
Both artists’ revelations have ignited broader discussions about modern relationships, honesty, and the expectations placed on public figures regarding love and fidelity.
